Public Notice

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has reviewed an application to establish a construction and demolition waste processing facility sent by Evergreen Recycle, LLC. The proposed facility would be located at 302 W. 53rd St North in Park City. The proposed construction and demolition processing operation will take place inside a building located on site at the existing Evergreen Recycle, LLC location which will be used to accept, receive, and sort construction and demolition debris. Clean rubble, once separated from the debris, will be stored outdoors in a designated clean rubble area on site up to a maximum of 300 tons. The Evergreen Recycle, LLC facility is approximately 70 acres in size and will accept approximately 220,000 cubic yards per year of wood wastes from various sources.

The Sedgwick County Commissioners have certified that the application described herein is consistent with the County’s solid waste management plan. The City of Park City has certified that the application is consistent with local land use restrictions and zoning. KDHE has reviewed the application and found it to be in conformance with state solid waste statutes and regulations.

KDHE is providing public notice of its intent to issue a permit to Evergreen Recycle, LLC for the proposed construction and demolition waste processing facility described herein. A copy of the administrative record, which includes the draft permit and all information regarding this permit action, is available for public review until January 30, 2022, during normal business hours at the following location:

Additionally, the application form with primary permit information is available for public viewing at http://www.kdheks.gov/waste/p_pubnot_sw.html. Anyone wishing to comment on the draft permit information should submit written statements no later than January 30, 2022 to Cody Nichols, Environmental Specialist, Solid Waste Processing Unit at Cody.Nichols2@ks.gov. After consideration of all comments received, the director of the Division of Environment will make a final decision on whether to issue the permit. Notice of the decision will be given to anyone who submitted written comments during the comment period and to those who requested notice of the final permit decision.
